Boutique hotel
Due to some confusion, my hotel booking in Zvishavane was one day short and the team here have had to rather hurredly cast around for somewhere for me to stay tonight. As we drove into the place they’d managed to book, I saw the words ‘Boutique Hotel’ on the sign, and just assumed the establishment was talking itself up as is often the case in Africa in my experience. However, as you can see by the photo, I was doing them a disservice – my room really is very ‘boutique’ and it is surprisingly good value, which is a good thing as, rightly, we are required to stay in fairly modest accommodation on these international development trips. The only thing I will pull the hotel up on is the absence of beer! Still with yet another early start tomorrow, that’s probably not a bad thing!
