Gone to seed

Some of this crop has been picked but the rest has gone to seed.  The amount of food waste in the fields always distresses me.  In this case it may be that the farmer had a market for a certain quantity only or that all the heads were not cosmetically perfect. In the afternoon I went to a CA meeting with guest speakers from Trading Standards and the police on postal and telephone scams.  Some of the stories of the losses suffered by vulnerable people and the international organisation of the crimes were horrifying.  If you are getting a flood of calls or mail shots sending catalogues or prize draws you are probably on a 'suckers list' and will get a lot more!
