windfalls (not)

These apples don’t have far to fall - just a foot or so.  Our step-over apple trees are not doing well this year.  They made a big effort to begin with, but as the summer went on, they seemed to lose interest and gave up.

So not windfalls, in the sense of unexpected good fortune.  Just little apples that dropped of the tree too soon. I guess we’ll just live in hope for next year.
