Exploring Lewis

We spent the day exploring the island today. First stop was Carloway Broch, which is pretty cool. You can climb up onto the walls and actually go in between the layers of the walls.

Next stop was Arnol Blackhouse which you're able to go into and it's still set up as it was when it was lived in. Crazy to think that people stayed in blackhouses until recently. There are ruins of a black house opposite which was pretty cool to see too.

We then went to a Norse mill and kiln. They're literally in the middle of no where!

Finally we headed to Gearrannan Blackhouse village which we didn't actually go into because you had to pay and the blackhouses are a lot more modern than the one at Arnol.
