Fifty years ...

... of the University of Stirling. The university is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. It's not the hotbed of radicalism it was portrayed back in 1967. But then who or what is. The university's art collection is terrific. There is a sculpture trail round the campus grounds but try as I might I've not been able to discover anything about this copper sail(?) which stands by Airthrey Loch. Stirling must have one of the most beautiful natural settings in HE.


After a quick visit to mum this morning I met for a coffee and lovely catch up someone I've known for more than 20 of Stirling's 50 years. She works at the university and although we're not close friends I always really enjoy our sporadic meetings. She is so, so busy at work and I was reminded of things I've left behind!

I'm out tonight to celebrate friend's big birthday.
