Coast
So, after last night's Marc Almond gig I've had a certain band's songs running around my head today. His final song was a cover of a bit a classic of its genre and there's a certain stomping, swagger involved that I can't help loving.
I've mentioned before that Luke Haines (a musician who I admire greatly) has this theory that there are great songs and great records and sometimes they work in tandem with each other, but often they are at odds. Example - he reckons that whilst most of his own actual songs are undoubted masterpieces, he has actually made some pretty rotten records of these songs. He then cites the example that The Beach Boy's' Good Vibrations is an awful song, but the record they made of it is fantastic. He similarly cites the entire recorded output of the band I'm about to link to.
Try this - "She's faster than most and she lives on the coast"
