It was a dreich old day - I suppose the haar was in. Hence I was particularly taken by this bright flower bed which I passed en route to my yoga session. It had looked a bit drab earlier in the season (and was close to the sinister hair grass), but this planting by the Edinburgh City Council elves has really come into its own.
