Edinburgh , day two
Back blip
The weather was lovely to start with but then turned grey with a few spots of rain. It did nt spoil our day though. Mike popped out to Greggs to buy two sausage and bacon baguettes and a cup of tea, he was thrilled as it was only £6 in total , tasted good too :)
We walked through the park and sat and watched the robot lawnmower doing it's thing.
We then had an ice cream and watched all the tourists stopping to take photos of the castle.
Listened and watched the floral clock cuckoo at 12 o'clock and then had a look round the art gallery. Some lovely pieces of work.
Up to the castle , passing an Invisible man, there may have been more but I did nt see them ;) Bagpipe players played, dogs were carved out of sand , a strange looking horse/man that was frightening everyone who walked by , people balancing on top of each other and some lovely owls.
We walked down to the Grass market , I had nt been there before but needed more time to explore. A very tasty fish meal and then it was time to collect our bags and walk back to the station for our return journey.
It was the Virgin train again with LOTS of carriages that kept going past us , we were in coach B , so quite a walk , trying to avoid the passengers with big bags that had just got off.
Someone was sitting in our seats , with a young child Luckily there were some spare seats further back. She later commented that she knew she was in our seats and they were meant to change seats in Edinburgh to continue their journey onto Perth.
Oh well, we made it back ok , going backwards all the way and no table. Dark when we got back and feeling tired.
