Typically when I go birding, the target birds were showing well about twenty minutes ago. I return home empty handed.
Today however was the complete opposite, I went to the RSPB reserve at Burton hoping to see a Cattle Egret and a Curlew Sandpiper. Within five minutes of arriving at the main hide both birds gave excellent views! In addition I also bagged Great White Egret and Little Egret. Happy days!
The photo is just a record shot snapped on my phone through binoculars of the Cattle Egret.
