Flowering Lampshade?

A mostly home day today, apart from coffee at M & S!

So what to photograph? I went out into the garden when there was a little bit of sunshine this afternoon. I was surrounded by webs and garden spiders and set to to take some photos of one of my favourite creatures. Most of the spiders were  well into munching their prey, or wrapping them up for later, so I turned my attention to the remaining flowers.

This is one of two Abutilons I have. It's from the Mallow family. They have really beautifully structured flowers and last for ages. I've put it through a bit of processing  (Bleach bypass from the Nik collection) to accentuate the veined structure. It reminds me of an old glass lampshade.
