Diary of an Edinburgher

Posh glasses

An early visit to the gym, then sitting outside in the sun with the new, quiet Archie. He was sorely tested too, with lots of squealing, excited kiddy-winks skipping by on their way to the swimming pool. But not a peep left his lips. A few mutters, to be true, but no woofs.

It got really quite hot while JR was at the gym, so I thought we should go somewhere, but not too far, involving a run for Archie and something to eat/drink for us. I decided on the very good idea of going up the hill, but taking a picnic with us. I even got the thermos flasks out.

But it was not to be, the hot, promising morning turned into a cloudy, cooler day. And I actually spent much of it reading the paper, something I don’t really do so much of now, preferring to get my news online. And JR had an afternoon hair cut appointment anyway.

Anne came to take Archie out for a couple of hours while we popped over to visit a neighbour, who has a very lovely flat and we stayed rather longer than we intended. I kept texting Anne to say we weren’t home yet.

But eventually we did arrive home and summoned Anne and Archie, and we had a lovely dinner after which Anne politely watched not only the safari video, but the safari photos too, declaring them excellent. Or maybe she was referring to the delicious gold ball chocolates that Elizabeth had brought...

Not sure I’ll manage an early visit to the gym tomorrow...
