Aunt Lena's house

This is our last day in NC, so we left our cozy retreat on Harker's Island and went into Beaufort for lunch and shopping. My hubby's family hails from these parts and I remember visiting his great aunt in this house. Her house used to be a school on the bottom level, and she as the only teacher lived upstairs. Of course, when I met her 40 years ago the school was closed, and she had the house to herself. She died shortly thereafter at a ripe old age. It was nice to see that the town has saved her house as a historical preservation.
