Working Bee
The sun was out this morning, although it isn't meant to be out long, as rain is forecast later this afternoon. So, I thought I would go on a blip hunt early today, and headed to our Pear tree.
This tree has just come out in blossom - and it was absolutely humming with Bees. I stood there and took lots of photo's, until I had a sore neck from looking up at the blossom. The Bees were amazing - my trouble was trying to locate them after I heard them buzzing. However, I did catch this wee honey bee, all laden up with pollen. It is amazing how much pollen they can carry! I also love how his body is lit up - presumably caused by the sun shinning through him at the right moment. The Bee is better viewed in large.
I got up this morning and milked for Farmerboy, so he could have a well deserved sleep in. Because of the change in time due to daylight saving, it was really 3.45am, although 'correct' daylight saving time was 4.45am. It was rather chilly out at that time of the morning; 3.9 degrees C, but was lovely to see the full moon out with all the stars. I have to admit that after breakfast I had a wee 'catnap', and now feel so much better.
