Cakes at Betty's!

Sadly it was time to say goodbye to NannaK and H after a fun, busy couple of days here in West Yorkshire.  Before we saw them off on the train to PaulaJ and G, we still had half a day to get round some sights, so we began with a walk along the canal to the Five Rise Locks where we watched a narrowboat negotiating the complex system.  Then it was back along the towpath to the car and over the moors to catch a viewpoint at the Cow and Calf rocks before parking up in Ilkley for lunch at Betty's Cafe.

Thankfully, the queue was short and we were soon tucking in to soup and yummy cakes (blackberry cheesecake for H; lemon torte for K and Tony and raspberry macaron for me!)

En route home we had time to circle around to Hewenden viaduct for a quick blipcall and then it was down to the station and goodbyes.

What a fine place this is that generates such friendships across the world which are sometimes wonderfully realised in actuality.  Seattle is on our list of places to visit.  Thank you to NannaK and H for being such good company and we now look forward to seeing the Hadrian's Wall and Scottish Tour blips!  Bon Voyage!
