Mrs Mallard

Today’s the day ..................... for a free lunch
 
She never asked for ‘permission to come aboard’ - she took it for granted.  This female mallard just dropped in, looking for a bite to eat - and we were happy to oblige, of course.

Lots of free food on offer on the canal this year.  The hedgerows were fairly dripping with enormous blackberries, sloes and occasional crab apples.  There were hips and haws and elderberries – and the combination of colours was spectacular .........................
