I had a slightly more chilled day working from home, which gave me the chance to wander down to Tong Park & Spring Wood at lunch time.
It was a bit dull, but there were a fair few Speckled Woods about, although mostly taking to the tree tops as soon as they spotted me.
So it's back to the hoverflies. I think this one's a new one for me - Leucozona glauicia (found at wood edges, feeds on umbellifers, black stigma on wings, yellow scutellum, narrow blue-grey markings on abdomen), so I've put it on iSpot for a more expert view.
I'm struggling for sharp images in the lower light, but I'm reluctant to use the flash.
