I quite like the view from down here...

After a few weeks of not really thinking about it too much, today the big day for the abseil arrived!

The day started up with a near-miss on the oversleeping front and a fairly chilled journey. Minor problem with a disappearing cafe, but that was soon resolved with a trip to a bakery for bacon rolls - yum!

The timing of our travel meant we were on site early - plenty of time to see the lighthouse from a variety of angles, get a cup of tea and watch a few other abseil-ers to consider the preferred technique!

Soon it was time for us to kit up, make our way up the 169 steps and climb over the railing. The railing was the worst bit - climbing over something that is there to stop you going over the edge goes against all common sense! However, it was great to be there in the company of the lovely Erin :]

The abseil itself was fun - such a lovely day and brilliant views! Most of all, it was great to be a small part of something big to try and stop homelessness. A huge thank you to all reading this who donated - I have no doubt that your money will go to good use!
