Some Days Are Like That

You just take a bite and try to hang on by the skin of your teeth.
Sometimes you fail.

This wasn't one of those days (I don't think).

PD insisted on doing a full walk this morning (after pretending for an hour and a half he didn't want to wake up).
He wasn't limping anywhere nearly as badly as Monday so I let him take the lead and do his full walk.
Passing the village hall you could smell this - the last one - from one heck of a distance. It was lovely.

The afternoon walk and PD wanted to head in the opposite direction from normal - which was fine because this time he was having trouble walking on paths and hard ground and the way we went meant he could go more or less the whole way on soft ground and grass. About the only hard bit of pavement he had to walk on gave me a shot of the hard man and his hounds.
Walking the route we did meant I got to see that the council have set out benches overlooking the football pitches which never get used because they are always waterlogged - even in summer.
It seems such a pointless effort.
Much like marking out the pitches several times a year.
They even admit that the pitches are pretty useless and it is too expensive to try and put in any kind of drainage.

SWMBO took her mother to the cinema this afternoon and I got on with picture processing and slideshow making.

In the eveing I went to the camera club and paid my dues for the next year
