Pink Cadillac

Well, the day finally arrived!

Back in June, Geraldine bought a 1 hour ride in a pink limo from a deal site. She initially wanted to use it to raise money for breast cancer awareness, but in the middle of her chemo and a house move, we didn't have the time or energy to pursue that properly, so when I got back from the Olympics, we decided to use the ride to say "Thank You" to all our friends who have helped us over the past year. It's been challenging to say the least.

An all pink affair... pink limo, we asked our friends to wear pink, pink cupcakes, balloons, boas, loot bags filled with pink things, CHAMPAGNE... the works. Oh, and I prepared a CD with relevant songs and that too was... PINK! All the girls had a brilliant time, as did we. In fact, the young girl on the right is a gate crasher. She saw us when we all piled out of the limo at the Atlantis Hotel on Jumeirah Palm. We actually had a lot of passers-by ask us what was going on as they quickly spotted all the pink stuff. The driver got quite into it too and put on one of the boas and held a balloon and posed for his picture! So, two brilliant hours driving around Dubai in style.

The former part of the day was spent in preparation for the afternoon. I brought back two frozen pies(!) in my case and we had one of them for lunch. Ate really unhealthily after getting home. Oh well... it's just one day! Pink velvet cake now...
