The Eyes Have It.

Today was one of these days when, up until the last minute, I had lots of potential shots to choose from.

I decided to head out on my 'often-trekked' walk along the feeder, but with a view to getting a different kind of shot than usual for my blip.

Managed a few possibles and after my usual coffee at the Visitor Centre, was heading home when I came across two horses in the wood, right next to the road.

Had never 'blipped'a horse before and thought this would be ideal for today. And as they were in a wood, not a field, the photos had a real countryside look.

The area after that is more open, with fields on either side and I was keeping an eye out for any interesting cloud formations, but, to be honest, I reckoned I was done for the day as I had my shot.

Don't know what made me look down but I was glad I did!! This guy - or girl - was on the grass at ground level and I couldn't believe my luck.

My first thought was 'Red Admiral' but doing an image search on Google, couldn't come up with a match. I was really taken by the big blue 'eyes'.

If any of you more knowledgeable blippers out there can shed any light, that would be great.
