It's going to be a long, cruel winter. 
John knows, deep down, that it is going to be a long, dark, grey winter. He has a knack for meteorological predictions. Didn't he say last week that the coming days would see a mix of passing showers and sunny spells? 
Bang on, he was. It's a knack in the family, passed on from father to son. 
So he is getting prepared. He called the man from Statoil to come and fill up the tank. 
And he is giving Marleen a quick lick of paint.
