A little bit of Brightness

Just enough sunshine to open a flower of Colchicum alpinum, a small species which as you'll guess is wild in the Alps.  I came across it in Saas Fee a few years ago, peppering the ground in August like the crocus do in Spring.  This one was raised from seed.

Every bit of brightness welcome today.  The washing machine was grumpy again this morning.  I eventually managed to get it to run a very hot program with lots of powder and no washing.  This seemed to clean out it's tubes and the next proper wash went off without incident. ..... And then I heard a dripping noise in the bathroom.  The cistern overflow, covered in tape.  Seems when the current cistern was installed maybe 40 years ago the old overflow pipe was an eighth of an inch higher than the new one so someone taped the gap!  Cheapest fix will be to get some new tape .... but it's got to dry out first :-/   Never a dull moment.

Jamie's still a bit out of sorts - we're going to take it gently.
