Life, not as we see it.

A life on the ocean wave . . . . .

As mentioned in yesterday's drivel, we went sailing today, but not before a pointless and fruitless sojourn into Mahon for the 2nd visit to the weekly market.  Actually it was a 3rd visit as we had stumbled across the same stalls and stallholders in Ciutadella last week.
We were collected at 14:00 hrs, or 2.5 bells, and set off in our minibus to collect our fellow sailors.  Nearly 2 hours later we arrived at Fornells and were whisked out to our catamaran and headed out of the very large enclosed harbour / bay.   However, there was quite a heavy sea running and the 1st mate gave us the option of turning back and contenting ourselves with the enclosed and calmer bay.   No thank you says I, agreeing with my fellows that we would go out and have a look.  Well, the waves got bigger and bigger, and were coming at varying degrees, or in the vernacular, Bloody lumpy, so with agreement of all, we turned round (Gybed) and headed back to safety.  It should be noted that nobody was wearing a life jacket, none having been offered!
The next couple of hours were spent wheeching (Non nautical term) back and forth across the bay.  I got to take the helm and was permitted to carry out a number of tacks.  Funny boats cats.  They don't like to tack but prefer to gybe.   Anyway, a good time was had by all, and that included a swim, alone, and some beer and snacks.  all in all a good afternoon.
Extra :  Sue all at sea.
