The Picos

Today dawned beautifully sunny and clear, we strolled over to the cable car only to find bus loads of people waiting to go to the top. We about turned and went into Potes, a busy little tourist trap about 20k away. We had a lovely coffee in the sun, a stroll along the river bank and on way back out to Fuente de we stopped at a Qesos shop and purchased some home made cheese and a couple of bottles of cider- what more could we want to sustain us?
The queues had gone by 2 o'clock so up we went to the very top, 6,000 feet and fantastic views. We saw some eagles - golden eagles l am told. Also caught 3 nuns enjoying the view, l laughed as they took selfies!
The mountains are not necessarily all that quiet, the field of sheep and goats in the main blip was anything but as all had bells around their neck which jingled each time they moved.
