Edinburgh Haddington milestone
This evening I walked from my house in Edinburgh city centre to that of my friend Emma in Portobello to meet (most of my) pals from my book group (but not ArcLight because she is missing in action in Finland). Enthusiasm for Melissa Harrison's At hawthorn time was rather muted. I have to say that I didn't rate it at all. In contrast the food was fabulous: carrot and ginger soup; a potato bake and a flaky pastry vegetable pie with salad; and berry pavlova. Our next book, which we will discuss on Monday 9th October, is Home fire by Kamila Shamsie.
On my way to Emma's I passed this milestone. The R at the end of 'Edin' looks a bit odd, and I have no idea of the meaning of 'Do'.
Earlier in the day I sorted out my expenses, then made plans for a work trip to Finland in December, which will incorporate a visit to ArcLight and alfthomas. I also took my bike out for another ride.
Exercise today: two loops of Holyrood Park on my bike, walk to Emma's (16,349 steps). Xii.
