Rainmaker

It seems a cheap line to trot out given the nature of the film's theme but, after seeing Looper, I did say to someone in the pub when asked for my opinion, "Yes, it was pretty good, but I feel like I've seen it all before." Hmmm. And bits of it are exciting, whilst others are a bit flat, and then it drags a bit, and there's some chasing around with big guns and there's all the 'hang on, if that happened in the future and now it's the present, and he's doing that now, will that not change the future? Would that work?" and all that kind of stuff that does or doesn't make sense depending on how much you choose to think about it. As Jeff Daniels says at one point in the movie, "All that time travel shit, it fries your brain." Best just to buckle up and enjoy the ride.
