In My World

The softer side of spring

I decided that today I would take some photos of my newly planted flowers. After nearly two weeks in the ground, they are all taking very well and I'm really enjoying the colour in the garden.

Usually, the Gazanias open their petals up as wide as can be, showing their delight on a sunny spring day....usually....

Today, however, has been a tad overcast, with not much sun about at all. The wise weather people even predicted storms and hail for this afternoon, (which we have not seen any sign of!)

So instead of perky, sunlit Gazanias, today you have "dull day" Gazanias, which I think are actually quite interesting. Look at how each of the petals are just slightly curled inwards....

....almost as if they don't really want to get out of bed today!! :)
