The non-forest walk
It had been a while. Several months.
But today I managed to drag the whole gang for a good old forest walk.
Except that the forest was gone. Vanished. Vaporised.
Ok, perhaps not all of it. But a pretty big chunk of it.
The kids were utterly disgusted.
At least there was a lot of meat for today's conversation during the walk in the non-forest.
We talked about growth, and the passage of time, and whether trees have feelings or not, and deer, and the paper industry, and the flat-pack-furniture industry, and the passage of time, and return on investment, and life cycles, and the passage of time.
R.I.P Forest Walk.
From now on you will be known as Semi-forest Walk
In other news of devastation, Mayo lost the All-Ireland football final. Again. By a single point. Again. And there were heart wrenching scenes of quietly sobbing grown men with their head buried in the turf, in front of 83,000 people. Again.
