A Stitch in Time

Dear Diary,

An absolutely beautiful day at the Shaker Village where I went to learn, or I should say re-learn, some basic embroidery stitches to enhance the fabric I printed there in June.  I sat with a woman who was also very much into her genealogy so we had fun comparing notes.  We found that we had pretty much the same family story, mother's family arriving with the Pilgrims and father's family first generation Polish immigrants!

Of course, I had to take some time to do a bit of early Christmas shopping in the museum store and wander the grounds of this beautiful place.  It felt more like mid-July than mid-September...very warm and humid.

I suspect some of the tropical air is being pushed into northern New England by Hurricane Jose which is slowly moving up the eastern seaboard.  Right now it looks like it will impact southern New England a bit but I should be safe here.  I leave for Ogunquit on Tuesday which is on the coast of Maine.  We will probably get some rain but nothing serious...fingers crossed.  I have been anticipating this trip for months!
