A Day Out
We managed to escape from the house this morning before the Daves came to do our circuit of Spring Lake with Ozzie.. There was a high school cross country track meet going and the place was heaving with lithe young things running around warming up and walking around in groups. It was nice to see so many healthy looking kids actually talking to each other and not with noses buried in devices....The same could not be said of the parents who had set up encampments all around the finish line well stocked with folding chairs, food and snacks.
By the time we got home and I decided to drink my second cup of coffee on the front porch since that was the only door not covered with plastic...the Daves had arrived and entombed us in the house by covering the front door with plastic. The only mode of escape was down the stairs to the garage, out the back garage door, down the steps to the back gate and across the lawn, so I took it. The car was already parked at the bottom of the driveway for a quick getaway.
It's been several months since I went to the Barlow in Sebastopol and I knew I could easily spend several hours there. I managed it easily at only two places. Passdoor a cross between a gallery and a design space, and Tamarind, a unique clothing boutique. Lovely people and things to look at in both places.
Today's picture is an interesting running work of art done by weaving yarn, plastic, strips of cloth and found objects through the temporary chain link fence set up around a building site.
