Dales Weekend Day 1

We entered the Dales Orienteering weekend and today travelled to Attermire near Settle. The weather was much better than at home which was an added bonus. Strangely having travelled a fair distance we were parked next to friends from South Ribble. Very handy as we are planning a trip to France with them next year.

The course began with a very steep climb which left us in oxygen debt for the first few controls. The area was quite tussocky and you really had to watch where you put your feet to avoid turning an ankle. There were a few bottle necks over the stiles built to avoid damaging dry stone walls but we both enjoyed our runs.

Now recharging our batteries for tomorrow's run.
