Going Going Gone

GC Produce is a family firm of wholesale greengrocers which has been in Pokesdown for seventy years.  It's one of the last of the companies to move out of Old Pokesdown.  Narrow streets and terraced houses aren't conducive to modern retail.  As I was down that way to help out on a stall on nearby Pokesdown Green (also in the collage) I asked if I could take a few photos before they cleared out.  I can remember my father buying stuff here.  The company is right next to the Salvation Army hall and we've moaned enough over the years about their vans parked everywhere.  But I think we'll be moaning even more when they're replaced by the usual too-many-flats-with-too-few-parking-places.
