A weed, I think

We have been preparing a large garden bed for planting today and were digging in some old silage from a bale that is about 3 years old.  I found this in the bale. It hadn't rotted down.   I think it is barley grass which is considered a weed. I definitely don't want it in my garden but I liked the structure of it so photographed it instead.
