Something Different

I got a heads up from someone in the photo group yesterday evening that The Flying Scotsman was due to be thundering through some nearby villages this morning, so as I've never stalked a train before I decided give it a go.
I got there early to choose the spot I wanted and get some practice shots to try and get the settings right.
I could have got a lot closer than this but I really wanted the 'scene ' rather than the close up that everyone goes for and was quite surprised to be completely alone where I was as I had expected a small crowd.......I guess it's not quite so much of an event these days and everyone who wants to see it has already done so.

I've given it the ' olden days ' treatment for effect and included the original as an extra as I couldn't decide which one I liked best :-)
