I was wandering around like a Hobo (I heard the word 'hobo' this morning and decided to sneak it into my blip) around the streets of London (sing along Ralph McTell!) and noticed these coats hanging over Monmouth Street. I had no idea why they were strung across the street, but just looked it up and could only find this..
This installation recently appeared in Monmouth Street, Covent Garden. Each coat strung on a washing line between the Georgian buildings is labelled with a traditional shop trade - the kinds of businesses, often skilled trades, that are disappearing everywhere but are long gone in Central London.
Happy Weekends to you all!
p.s. I think I've got a little over the top trying to brighten the colour in this, the road was definitely grey in 'real life'! Oh well!
