Into Practice.

Mr PB took me out for a drive this morning - we wanted to make the most of the sunshine. It was still a bit blustery but the light was beautiful. I wasn't feeling to energetic, but we stopped to look at a flat area of unimproved grassland at the start of one of our favourite walks. there is a small stand of trees there too, which means there was a good chance of finding grassland and woodland fungi. I wanted to collect a few specimens to try out the techniques we were practising on my weekend course. This one is a Blusher. I'll try and have a look at some of its microscopic features tomorrow. There were a few I didn't identify on the spot, so I'm making spore prints as a first step to identifying them.
