It's that time of the year
Colchicum caught my eye in the garden today, notably Colchicum speciosum, one of the biggest species. I grow a white form and a pink one which has a dark pink suffusion in the floral tube (the stem of the flower.) Also a seedling of Primula villosa putting up an out-of-season flower, very delicate and pretty. However, the first thing to catch my eye in the garden this morning were the spiders and their webs. So many, so perfect, glistening in the sunshine. All too often I walk into them unknowingly, but not this one.
Lots of planting done today ...a good day in the garden!
