UNICORN
The usual weekly torture of our M&S grocery shop but I escaped the Stewart shackles for a few minutes to venture out into the streets. This is Gerald Laing's statue in Inverness's Falcon Square. The unicorn is on top of an obelisk. The square is pretty uninviting and in spite of some write-ups I don't for one minute believe it has the atmosphere of the old mercat cross in the olden days although some descriptions imply that it really is a replacement focal point. He used to have, and for all I know still has, a couple of reclining bronze nude women in Inverness Museum.
