No Grave But The Sea

"Many thousands of sailors who gave their lives whilst serving with Commonwealth Navies during the two World Wars were lost at sea.
With no possibility of a grave to mark their passing a way had to be found to remember each individual by name.

The solution was the great Naval Memorials at the three manning ports, Chatham, Portsmouth and pictured in today's Blip, Plymouth".

The temporary addition shown is the "Poppy Wave", manufactured from some of the remaining ceramic Poppies which originally made up the Tower of London display.

If you get the opportunity it's well worth a visit.
