Neighbours

Not ours, but S and R's. They moved into their new-build house on the housing estate first featured here about 18 months ago, although they don't spend all year there, returning to Britain over the winter. The estate got off to a slow start but is now growing like Topsy, with new houses popping up every few weeks. These developments can be soulless places, but I'm happy to say that this one seems to work as a community; virtually all the neighbours were round S and R's table, and it was a very convivial evening, lasting till nearly midnight. Even the wind played ball; it had dropped after a windy few days, and in any case the terrace is in the lee of the house.
