A Rolling Stone

gathers no Lycopodium annotinum - at least I think that's what it is!
Growing on the edge of a field surrounded by pine forest, a few meters from dug outs left from the war (occupied by Russian troops on what was the front), endangered, but it must like something round here. The sand soil round here is alluvial and very fine.

This area is home to many 'Old Believers', a branch of Russian Orthodoxy that left Russia 300 years ago.

I also photographed Macrolepiota procera but I thought I'd show you the moss with fruiting bodies. I should have looked harder to find you a spider! Sorry...
