Why we need hills
This is a rather bleak street scene in Abergavenny (well, Llanfoist, actually, just the other side of the river), but it shows how important the hills are to the town. When I go elsewhere, I really miss the familiar shapes that appear as a backdrop whichever way you turn. They're like comfortable old friends. This is the Sugarloaf, so named because it's sweet. No, because it's the shape of the old loaf sugar that none of us remember.
