I'm not a real lover of spiders, but have to say that I was amazed at the size and complexity of this spiders' web. I was taking macro shots of all the bees on the sedum--honey bees, bumblebees, and wasps--when I noticed the web and the spider. Arachnids are one of those things that, while amazing in some ways (web design and fly/bug control) are also downright creepy, sinister,  and are the stuff nightmares are made of!!  :))
