The Courts NT (Tuesday 12th September 2017)

Two window fitters arrived bright and early at the Old Forge to complete the works begun the previous day and soon began drilling holes in the porch wall where the new window was due to be. The noise was pretty intense and I soon decided to be elsewhere.
I ended up at The Courts Garden, an NT property currently hosting an exhibition of garden sculpture by Fiona Campbell and Ian Turnock. The exhibition is called Form And Fascination and runs until 15th October. I sat on a metal bench beside the lily pond for a picnic lunch of Morrison's sausage rolls and Waitrose coffee and then toured the grounds.
It was my third visit of the year but as the last time was in June it looked substantially changed and I took a number of photos that were not of the sculpture.
The sculpture visible in the blip is Awakening II by Ian Turnock, made of cor-ten weathered steel and yours for just under £3,000.
The fitters were putting the final touches to the window and tidying up when I returned mid-afternoon, marking the end of phase one of the renovations; phase two being painting and decorating once decisions about colours and so forth have been finalised. When they'd gone I had to put everything that had been moved outside back into the porch in their new positions and before the rains came down.
I had to resample this at a lower resolution as it exceeded Blip's maximum size. It looks considerably sharper in the full screen Gallery view.
I will probably blip the new window next.
