Red Admiral on ivy

It always amazes us how much wildlife is attracted to our ivy,  especially at this end of the season when it is covered in insects particularly bees.  We haven't noticed butterflies previously but this year there are a lot on it.

The problem is that it is encroaching on our patio so it is on my list of jobs to cut back but as it always has birds nests in the summer I will need to wait until winter.
