Festival of Languages Day
Normal lessons were suspended at school today and the children were given 'passports' to travel round the school world to different countries. In each country they were told about what it is like to live there, what the capital city is called, something famous from that country and they also got to try food from most countries. They were also taught a little of each country's language and some of the traditions from there, like indian dancing and belly dancing.
Some of the countries visited were Sri Lanka, India, China, Algeria, Mexico, Turkey, Israel and Malaysia. Carys may have missed some, but I'm sure she didn't draw breath for the whole 5mins monologue on the way home which was all about it! I think it was a very good day.
