A Beach, A Boat and a Tennis Ball

Dear Fat Pete & Princess Normal,

Our last full day in Papamoa and Tiggy and myself took another walk along the beach where we found that someone has built a driftwood boat. Tiggy was so excited he had to dig a big hole.

At lunchtime we met up with LisaMac, another of Er Indoors's mates from her backpacking days. She is hilarious. Back in the day LisaMac and Er Indoors stole an entire Christmas tree from House of Fraser when they both worked there. Their last working day before the Xmas hols, they literally just picked up a huge tree and walked off with it and no-one stopped them because if someone is casually walking around with an Xmas tree then CLEARLY they must have a good reason.

The only glitch to the plan? It's a long way back from the West End of Princes Street over to the Southbridge flat.

"Ye can't bring that on here love," said the bus driver when LisaMac & Er Indoors attempted to shove it through the door. Fortunately they then bumped into a bunch of festive-minded construction workers who took it the rest of the way.

So it was a fun reunion and hopefully we'll see LisaMac again soon.

Afterward I got taken to "The Cave" by Big Nipper. It's a virtual reality gaming centre. I need to tell you now that I am RUBBISH at games but I gave it a shot. Probably the best game was one where you get to shoot and machete rampaging zombies. I thought I was doing pretty well when suddenly a zombie leapt through a wall and LUNGED at me.

Virtual reality is pretty immersive. Or, "You nearly SHAT IN YOUR PANTS MATE," as Big Nipper put it. I like Big Nipper a lot, he is really fun and also we have similar experiences, having married the two sisters.

I told Big Nipper that the best way to go, is to surrender. "Things go much easier after they've broken your spirit," I told him. We decided we are The Husband Team. "Go Team Husband!" I said. "I bring with me the power of Complete Acquiescence!"

I was being a bit naughty and cynical of course. But then I saw the sisters exchange a look and wondered how off the mark I was.

Worrying. Not "rampaging zombies" worrying, but it's up there.
