Farewell to the Isles

The ship set off from Castlebay at 7.55am (on time amazingly enough given all the concerned about the weather) and 12 hours later we were almost home. Five hours at sea - a little bumpy for the first hour or so with the high winds, but it was okay - best to watch the waves, or so I have found anyway. The rest of the journey was idyllic - sunny enough to sit on deck and watch the islands and mainland go by. And a lovely sunny day for the drive home from Oban - fish and chips at Tyndrum was great. 

We would have been home earlier if we hadn't decided to make a slight detour and cross over the new Forth Bridge (see extra).

So farewell to the Isles - we will be back.
