Outwood Mill

My weekly visit to the butchers takes me past this historic windmill which was built in 1665 when the Great Plague was raging in London some 25 miles away. It is England's oldest working Post Mill, that is until it was hit by the gales in January this year. Up until then it could even grind corn and frequently did on its Open Days.
Today it is a sorry sight but I'm pleased to say that no further damage was done during the rough weather we had this week.
Fortunately, the large dog wasn't around when I took this photo, had it been you might have had a blip of the butchers instead!
