up the hill
I climbed Glastonbury Tor 30 years ago. One look at the tower overlooking the flat lands of Somerset, and you have to go to the top.
A 360 degree view gives a dizzy feeling. Inside a plaque tells how Henry VIII & the Dissolution saw the hanging of the last Abbot of Glastonbury within the Tor's stone walls.
We were lucky. Despite a cold wind the visibility was incredible. On the way back down a little kestrel skimmed the breeze overhead, making us mortals feel insignificant & clumsy.
